The Library is open to members of the public during the following hours.

Monday – 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Tuesday - 9:00 am  - 4:00 pm 
Wednesday - 9:00 am - 4:00 pm 
Thursday - 9:00 am - 4:00 pm 
Friday - By appointment.

Requests to review OAH decisions that are not on the OAH Decisions document portal must be approved prior to your visit, though the OAH Public Information Act (PIA) form.

The Library's collection may only be used on the OAH's premises. Items cannot be checked out.

Library and Research Resources

OAH's library has a collection of state and federal statutes and regulations, treatises, and other materials. The library is located at OAH's main office in Hunt Valley and is open to the public Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM, and Friday by appointment.

Internet

The Library provides access to the Internet during normal business hours.

Rights and Obligations of Users

The Library strives to balance the rights of patrons to access various types of information resources with the rights of users to work in a public environment free from disruptive sounds and visuals.

There are information resources on the Internet that are inappropriate for viewing in a public setting. The OAH reserves the right to end Internet sessions when such material is displayed.

  • Patrons are expected to use the Internet workstation without Library staff assistance.
  • The Library does not provide e-mail accounts.
  • Use of the Internet is free; however printing is not available.
  • Patrons may not download anything from the Internet to the Internet workstation hard drive.
  • Patrons are expected to follow all Library policies and guidelines. OAH Internet guidelines and policies are available upon request.
  • Use of the Internet is a privilege that may be revoked if abused.

Photocopies

The library has one photocopier. The cost for photocopies is $.25 per page. You may pay for photocopies by check made out to the Maryland State Treasurer, or by cash (exact amount).

Reference and Research Assistance

Library staff may assist you in locating legal materials, but are not able to give legal advice. For example, library staff may not interpret statutes, cases, or regulations, advise you about your legal rights, or recommend which legal forms you should use or how you should complete them.
